Oswaldo Cruz registrou suas impressões sobre o clima, o lugar, as instalações e os procedimentos e equipamentos utilizados, inclusive desenhando alguns dos instrumentos. Na mesma ocasião visitaram o quarto onde faleceu o cientista Louis Pasteur.
